Nobody puts baby in the corner

My biggest teen heartthrob died today. Patrick Swayze was THE guy in the late 80s. Our prom's theme was "I've had the time of my life".

I was so crazy for him that I even stalked a local movie rental/tanning salon asking nearly daily if they would give away their lifesize standup of Swayze and Jennifer Grey dancing!!!! They finally got tired of me so they gave it to me.

Think about it. Me driving around town in my 2-door black TBird (I loved that car!) with a lifesize Patrick Swayze in the passenger seat! It was AWESOME!

It stayed in my room at home forever. I wonder what ever happened to it..... And don't forget about him in Ghost and Outsiders and North and South. And all those cheesy movies that were only worth watching with the sound off and the fast forward button ready for the few scenes he wasn't in.


All reminiscing aside. I am SICK AND TIRED of young people dying from these crazy diseases! Where is all our research money going? I am angry my mom was taken away from me. I am angry I lost my little niece. I am angry my grandma and aunt died from cancer. I am angry that my friends have lost their mothers, fathers, loved ones.

Am I worthy?

Kathy retired! Wow - hard shoes to fill. When I was asked to step in until a permanent replacement could be named, I was honored... and scared. Many people gave me congrats and condolences at the same time.

NOW I know what they were talking about. In the last few weeks I have dealt with every kind of issue. But I'm sure there will be many more I never dreamed about. It never ends. I'm beginning to show signs of wear working two jobs. I am so lucky that I have the support of an amazing staff. If it wasn't for them there is no way I could do it all.

I just hope I make the right decisions. Time will tell.

Have you wondered where I've been? So have I.

The end of the summer was crazy. My daughter made it home safely from TX. She went to 2 weeks of band camp and started back to school. She's in 9th grade now. I can't believe my baby is in high school. She loves it. Mom is in denial.

Her very first day was great EXCEPT she didn't get to eat lunch! By the time she made it thru the line and sat her food down on the table, the bell rang. The mom in me wanted to call the school but she saidthey were working on it. Well the next day she watched the clock and had her books gathered when the bell rang to go to lunch. She rushed to the cafateria and pushed her way thru seniors, juniors.... She told me that she wasn't going hungry 2 days in a row!
